I will not waste my time writing about the unwelcomed winter that arrived more than a month early, bringing sub-zero temperatures and more snow than Toronto is accustomed to getting in early November. My biggest beef is that it came without warning, without a chance to go through all our gear from last year, to make sure everything still fits. Spoiler: it did not. I ended up ordering snow pants online with a promise of 2-3 days for delivery, but it now looks like that is in a portion of our universe where each day is 48 hours long.
Today, as I try to keep my toes warm, I will think of summer, remembering that the cold will pass (in many, many months), and before long I will be able to dip my feet into the warm waters at the cottage again.
